How Desks work

Last updated · October 14, 2026

A Desk is a trading crew, live inside TMC. The owner runs it, the members trade and talk in it. This page is for members. Paid Desks and stripes have their own pages.

Find and join a Desk

  1. Open the Desks page and browse Discover. Filter by language or category, or sort by Most active, Newest or Most members.
  2. Top this week ranks Desks by how much their members traded on TMC over the last 7 days. It is never ranked by how many members a Desk has.
  3. Open a Desk to read what it is about. Some Desks are open to all, others work on request.
  4. Join, or send your request. A Desk can be free or paid, and a paid Desk is explained in Paid Desks.
  5. On the Desks page, Your Desks lists the Desks you own and Joined lists the ones you joined, with your requests.

Open Desks. You need to be signed in to join.

Inside a Desk

  • Channels: a Desk is laid out in channels, like a Discord server. Each has one job: chat, news from the team, callouts with real positions, or the live. A channel in white with a dot has new messages, and the question mark next to a channel says who reads it and who posts.
  • Callouts: a callout is backed by the real position of the person who posts it, with every buy and sell after. Nothing to fake and nothing to edit.
  • Mentions: type @ and pick a name, and they get a notification in their bell with a link to your message. Only members who can see the channel are notified.
  • Events: live calls, AMAs and trading sessions planned in the Desk. You get a reminder in the bell 15 minutes before and when it starts. Remind me tells the team you will be there, and they see how many members said so, never who. Times show in your own time zone.
  • Tickets: a private line between you and the team of the Desk. Only you and the team read it. A ticket moves between Open, Waiting for you and Closed, and replying within 7 days reopens a closed one.
  • Stripes: the level you earn in a Desk by trading and helping, from Stripe 1 to Stripe 5.
  • Roles: roles color the names you see and can open channels.

See Grit and Stripes for how a level is earned, and Paid Desks for passes.

Stay safe in a Desk

  • A callout, a message or a take is an opinion. It is never advice from TMC.
  • TMC staff and KOLs will never ask for your keys, your seed phrase or a transfer. Never paste a seed phrase or a private key in a chat, a ticket or a message, even if someone asks.
  • Report a ticket or a message if someone asks for your keys or your funds. A ticket report goes to TMC, not to the Desk.

See Stay safe on TMC.

Open your own Desk

Join one from Discover, or open your own. The owner chooses the channels, the roles and what each stripe opens, and a free Desk stays free. A seller plan is only needed to sell passes and products from a Desk. TMC makes no promise about what a Desk will earn.
