Priority fee and tip
You set them, TMC does not. A priority fee and a tip are extra SOL you choose to pay so a trade lands earlier. They are normal on Solana memecoins, and TMC imposes neither of them.
Overview
On Solana, many people send trades at the same time. Two optional payments let yours go ahead: the priority fee, paid to the validator that builds the block, and the tip, sent to a fast relay. Both are paid in SOL, both are your choice, and both go to the network side of your trade, not to TMC.
Priority fee
Normal on Solana memecoins and set by you, not TMC: extra SOL paid to the validator so your trade lands earlier. You can set it up to 0.05 SOL per trade. The terminal offers three fixed levels and a custom field, plus Auto.
| Level | Priority fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Auto | 0.001 to 0.005 SOL | Recommended. Follows the market. See below. |
| Fast | 0.0001 SOL | A fixed level. |
| Turbo | 0.0005 SOL | A fixed level. |
| Ultra | 0.002 SOL | A fixed level. |
| Custom | up to 0.05 SOL | Any amount you type, up to the maximum. |
Tip
Normal on Solana memecoins and set by you, not TMC: extra SOL you add so your trade lands first in the block. A tip is a separate payment from the priority fee. It goes to one of the official tip accounts of the relay you use, never to TMC, and it can be at most 0.01 SOL.
Tips are used by snipes and by Time Attack. Where a tip is not available yet, the trade goes out with the priority fee alone: it is never blocked because of it.
The difference
| Priority fee | Tip | |
|---|---|---|
| Paid to | The validator | A fast relay (Jito or Helius Sender) |
| What it does | Puts your trade ahead in the block | Helps your trade reach the top of the block |
| Who sets it | You | You |
| Maximum | 0.05 SOL | 0.01 SOL |
| Received by TMC | No | No |
Auto
Auto is the recommended priority fee, and the default of the Standard preset. It never goes under 0.001 SOL, it rises with the market when it heats up, and it stops at 0.005 SOL. The terminal shows its current value next to the word Auto. If the market level cannot be read, Auto is 0.001 SOL.
A preset you already saved keeps its own amount: Auto only applies to a new Standard preset, or when you pick it.
Time Attack
Time Attack is the aggressive mode for launches. It is the last button of the preset row, a lightning icon, and you set four things: the priority level, the tip, the slippage, and a maximum per trade. The maximum is 0.05 SOL by default, it counts the priority fee plus the tip, it is shown before you trade, and it is never exceeded.
Time Attack suggests a level from the market, and you can change it. In the Instant Trade panel it also sends the tip and the maximum, for trades made with one wallet; on the other buy and sell buttons it sets the priority and the slippage. It has no fee of its own, and TMC takes no part of the priority fee or the tip, see Fees.
You choose
Every amount on this page is shown to you before you trade and set by you. Auto and Time Attack suggest values from the market, you see them, and you can change them. TMC never raises your priority fee or your tip on its own. For what TMC itself charges, see Fees.
